Bargetto is a Syrah-based wine, which is one of the most expressive red grape varieties in the world. Originating from the Rhône Valley of southeastern France, Syrah produces wines that range from peppery and savory in cool climates to rich, dark, and full-bodied in warmer regions. The same grape is known as Shiraz in Australia and South Africa, with stylistic intent influencing its labeling—Syrah leans toward a French model with restraint and noticeable acidity, while Shiraz tends to be riper, more concentrated, and fruit-forward, closer to the Barossa Valley tradition.
